Custom design and printing

Bring us a problem, a sketch, or a part that no longer exists. We model it in CAD, print it, test the fit, and hand you a finished object with the files or without them, as you prefer.

Typical work

What people bring us

Replacement parts

A knob, bracket, clip, gear, or housing from a machine whose maker has moved on. Measure the remains, and we rebuild the geometry around them.

Functional parts

Mounts, adapters, cases, jigs, spacers, and enclosures designed around the parts they must hold, with the walls and clearances chosen for the job.

Models and display pieces

A shape you sketched, a scale model, a prop, or a display object built to a size that fits your shelf.

Small production runs

Ten, fifty, or a few hundred matching parts, printed in batches and checked against the first approved sample.

Printing your own model

If you already have a model file, we can print it, repair it, scale it, or split it into parts that assemble.

Scan-to-print repair

Where a broken piece is too complex to measure, we can work from photographs and dimensions you supply to reconstruct it for printing.

Scope

What we need from you

  • The purpose. What the part must do, and what it must fit against.
  • Dimensions. Measurements of the mating parts, in millimetres or inches.
  • Photographs. One photograph of the whole assembly and one of the damaged area.
  • Environment. Indoors or outdoors, hot or cold, load-bearing or decorative, and whether it touches food or water.
  • Quantity. One piece, a set, or a small run.

A hand sketch or a written description is enough to begin. If a dimension is missing we will ask for it rather than guess.

Honest limits

A printed part is not the same as a machined or moulded one, and we will say so before you pay for something that will not hold.

  • Printed plastic has layer lines and a grain; strength differs along the layers.
  • A part that carries a person, lifts a load overhead, or holds pressure is usually the wrong job for a printed plastic part, and we will decline it rather than promise it.
  • Tight tolerances are possible but cost time; we will tell you which dimensions actually need to be tight.
  • Very large pieces are printed in sections and joined; the join is a visible line.
  • Where your design belongs to someone else, you are responsible for having the right to reproduce it.

Start with a message

Describe the part, attach photographs if you have them, and we will reply with questions, a plan, and a quote.
