About

A small workshop in the USA

SpaceAge3D prints original objects and designs custom parts for people who need one of something, or a dozen of something, done properly.

Why it exists

The workshop started the way a lot of small shops do: with a printer that never worked, then one that did, then a growing pile of parts made for neighbours, friends, and machines that had no spares left.

During the COVID-19 shortage, that turned into a run of face-shield frames for a local volunteer group, which distributed them to healthcare workers nearby. That was the point at which printing stopped being a hobby and became something worth doing for other people.

The aim now is simple. Design and fabrication sit in the same pair of hands, so a change that would mean a week of email between two companies takes an afternoon in one workshop. That is the whole advantage of a shop this size, and it is the reason to keep it this size.

How we work

Original designs

The designs in the shop are made here. They are not bought in, relabelled, or drop-shipped, and each one can be adapted before it is printed.

One-offs are ordinary

A single replacement part is a normal job, not a nuisance. There is no minimum order and no setup fee hidden in the quote.

Straight answers

If a printed part is the wrong choice for your job, you will hear that before you pay, along with what we would do instead.

Work kept in the USA

Printing, design, and packing all happen here, and orders ship to addresses in the United States.

The workshop writes things down

Progress and setbacks are recorded in the weblog, so anyone thinking about a project can see how the last one went.
